During 1981, The Dukes of Hazzard was #2 in the Nielsons for the year (behind Dallas). Merchandise sales related to the show soared above $190 million/year. The "Enos" spinoff also occurred at the start of the 1980-81 season, as Sonny Shroyer joined the L.A. police department.
