It is interesting to note that a replica General Lee owned by actor, John Schneider, was sold by Barrett~Jackson in 2008 for $450,000, which supports the old adage, right time, right place in the world of auctions.

The car was part Barrett Jackson’s January 15th~22nd 2011, car auction and the vehicle was used in the Dukes episode entitled, “One Armed Bandits” which aired January 26th, 1979. The car, dubbed, “Lee 1“, made it’s first and only jump in the episode over a Hazard County Police cruiser and was also seen in the openingcredits of almost every episode for 7 years.

LEE 1 was salvaged out of a Georgia junkyard in August 2001 by Travis Bell and Gary Schneider. The car has since been fully "restored" to its on screen appearance. As much of the original parts have been replaced, a lot of people think of Lee1 as just a replica with the correct VIN number. It was officially unveiled to the public November 11, 2006 with John Schneider behind the wheel.
